Yoga: the only complete system that can work at all levels of body and mind.
Hatha Yoga, is the traditional Indian name used to describe a set of practices that are
intended to prevent physical problems, heal existing ones
and maintain overall health and wellbeing.
I'm Sue, and I've been passionate about Yoga since my very first Yoga class way back in the 1980's.
I completed the British Wheel of Yoga Teacher Training Course in 1993 and have been teaching ever since.
Yoga may be practised by students of all ages & can be infinitely adapted to suit a student's needs & abilities.
There are many different types of Yoga. I teach "Hatha" Yoga, which takes care of both body & mind. Physically, the body enjoys the most wonderful stretch - in fact, some of Yoga's so termed 'classic' postures look & feel great.
Then, there is the relaxation - so much needed today, as ever.
Generally speaking, here are some of the main benefits that come from the regular practise of Hatha Yoga:-
1. A supple spine
2. Excellent posture
3. Improved balance & concentration (which can help prevent life-threatening falls later in life)
4. Increased suppleness & strength
5. A fit & well-toned body
6. A youthful disposition
7. An understanding of how controlled breathing helps to calm & balance the mind
8. An appreciation of what it really means to 'relax'.
Still unsure whether you want to take up Yoga? Then why not come along to a slightly moderated class that incorporates a chair to give support & confidence.
This is my relatively new "Gateway Programme", suitable for complete beginners of all ages and fitness levels, including students with a disability.
Basically, the lesson provides a 'gateway' to Yoga, giving you the opportunity to learn about Yoga, participate at an easy level & then 'graduate' to a higher level should you so wish.
If you are interested in joining one of my classes - whether it be on the mat or via the Gateway Programme - I'd be more than happy to hear from you.
Please see below a list of all classes - times, venues, costs, etc. 🙂
Wishing everyone good health, happiness & longevity 😊
